Our Softgel

Softgel combining DHA, EPA, D3, alpha-tocopherol, gamma-tocopherol, lutein, and zeaxanthin – in brain- targeted forms and dosages to match neuroprotective dietary intakes.

Deep violet color with a purpose – made of brain healthy anthocyanins, fully natural from the pigment of California red grapes, rather than artificial dyes.

Superior bioavailability – these seven fat-soluble nutrients are dispersed together in their native oils, enabling more natural and enhanced absorption, unlike dry forms commonly found in supplements.

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) Omega-3/Phospholipid Complex

Our DHA and EPA are specifically targeted for the brain. They cross into the brain more efficiently than others, possess a high DHA:EPA ratio, and provide key building blocks for production of neurotransmitters. Learn why our DHA/EPA/phospholipid complex is not your typical fish oil.

Cholecalciferol (D3)

Cholecalciferol is the form of vitamin D most common in nature and most effective at reversing deficiencies. Cholecalciferol is vital for brain function because it specifically binds to the vitamin D receptor (VDR), which is found extensively in the areas of the brain responsible for memory and cognition. Learn how vitamin D is linked to cognitive ability.

Alpha-tocopherol (E) and gamma-tocopherol

Vitamin E is critical for protect and transporting lipids in the brain, like DHA and EPA. “Vitamin E” is actually a family of eight different molecules, and most supplements only provide a single, synthetic form of alpha-tocopherol. We include both the natural form of alpha-tocopherol, as well as its sister molecule, gamma-tocopherol, at an alpha:gamma ratio of 1:2. Learn about the 1:2 ratio’s synergistic effect on the brain.

Lutein and zeaxanthin

Lutein, and its molecular analog, zeaxanthin, are the dominant carotenoids in our brains, accounting for almost 70% of the total. Carotenoids, like the well-known vitamin A and beta carotene, play important antioxidant and anti-inflammatory roles for the eyes and brain. Learn how researchers have measured the amount of lutein in our brains by looking at our eyes.

Our Capsules

Ten nutrients – in brain-targeted forms and dosages to match neuroprotective dietary intakes.

An anthocyanin complex, uniquely rich in malvidin and cyanidin, and pterostilbene – bringing key nutrients in-common from berries and red wine, well-studied for their relationship with cognitive aging.

Incorporates quercetin, kaempferol, and myricetin – from the flavonol class of molecules, rich in berries, tea, and green leafy vegetables – delivering newly identified benefits to long - term brain health from the latest dietary research findings.

Nicotinamide (B3)

Our form of vitamin B3 efficiently replenishes stores of NAD+, a vital molecule to restore oxidative and energetic balance to stressed cells. It is also a powerful antioxidant that binds free radicals in the brain and protects the blood-brain barrier. Learn how repeated stresses increase our need for nicotinamide.

Hydroxy-cobalamin (B12)

Among the many forms of vitamin B12, we chose the form that best fits our mission for the brain and diet. Hydroxy-cobalamin is naturally found in food, the longest-lasting in circulation, and it localizes in the brain and spinal cord. Learn how this nutrient prevents the build-up of the neurotoxic substances homocysteine and propionic acid.

Catechins

Catechins are a family of structurally similar, neuroactive molecules that are antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-atherogenic (preventing the thickening of blood vessel walls), most abundantly found in green tea. Research indicates both positive long-term and short-term effects on brain function. Learn more about research in catechins and brain function.

Theanine (L-Theanine)

Theanine is an amino acid structurally very similar to glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter, enabling theanine to reduce the effects of calcium imbalances in neurons. Theanine and catechins are included together to better model the neurological benefits of green tea. Learn about alpha brain waves and how theanine affects them.

Magnesium (Bisglycinate Chelate)

Magnesium is critical for learning and memory, balancing the flow of ions at neuronal synapses. We use a specialized form called magnesium bisglycinate chelate, enhancing absorption and bioavailability for the brain, as well as abdominal comfort. Learn why our moderate dosage, not too much, not too little, may be the best way to go for your brain.

Kaempferol

A neuroactive compound in a special class of phytomolecules called flavonols, kaempferol is rich in dark green leafy vegetables like kale, and it reduces inflammatory activity, increases antioxidant activity, and improves insulin sensitivity (important for brain energy). Learn about cutting-edge research in dark green leaf vegetables and flavonols linking kaempferol to brain health.

Myricetin

Cutting-edge research studies are connecting higher intakes of myricetin with long-term brain benefits, and it shows extreme neuroprotective potential against neurotoxicity, including glutamate and iron toxicity. Learn how this potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory is found in many foods, yet remains under-consumed by most.

Quercetin

Quercetin rounds-out our trio of flavonol molecules (along with kaempferol and myricetin), controlling markers of oxidative stress and enhancing mitochondrial (energetic) activity in the brain. Studies show it is stored in the brain’s hippocampus, important for the formation, organization, and storage of memories. Learn about quercetin’s many synergies with our other nutrients.

Anthocyanins

Anthocyanins are natural, darkly-colored pigments that exhibit antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and signaling properties that help to maintain brain health, and evidence supporting these brain benefits is mounting through grape, wine, and berry intake studies, all of which are rich in anthocyanins. Learn about the two parts of our formulation where we’ve incorporated anthocyanins.

Pterostilbene

Pterostilbene is a molecular analog of resveratrol, except it is dimethylated, making it much more bioavailable and capable of entering the brain unmetabolized. Importantly, pterostilbene is uniquely rich in blueberries. Learn about how recent studies are connecting blueberry consumption with various brain benefits.
